The Krupanidhi Educational Trust was established in 1985 by Prof. Suresh Nagpal an educationist & Prof. Sunil Samson Dhamnigi, philanthropist. The trust has to its credit of being the first to start a pharmacy college in Karnataka, run by pharmacy professionals. Its also the first college to have started physiotherapy, in Bangalore. Amrita School of Engineering, Bangalore started in 2002 as "Amrita Institute of Technology & Science" with a vision to produce quality engineers with service attitude for the benefit of the society and nation. The school was conceived of as the grooming ground for future engineering professionals of India. Initially it had only three branches: Computer Science, Electronics & Communication and Information Technology. It was then affiliated to the Visveswaraiah Technological University, Belgum.
